Been feeling down for some time now.
Probably just me not eating/exercising/lack of sunlight.
Also have headaches and occasional fevers just to top things off - which I'm mostly blaming on caffiene withdrawl. It used to be ok to have a diet coke at lunch as the afternoons were practical at college and for some reason if I'm active during/straight after then I'm fine. But as some of the class was struggling with the maths, we've had bugger all practical in the last couple of weeks.

Wota/Wotagei. Wota are ardent fans of certain jpop idols. And Wotagei are the chants/dances that they do as cheers.

Uhuh.

I finally found out where those little anime style dance videos are coming from - MikuMikuDance.

I don't really like the song, but video was well done. And I just want to say that these people have too much time on their hands.

I'm afraid I didn't like it that much.
Not that scary. Things you can see just aren't.

No, not the Heroes guy, but the drink.
I was pleasantly surprised to find it in Sainsburies (I usually shop at Tescos). It's nostalgic for me as I grew up drinking the stuff. It's very popular downunder (the tin says it was made in Kenya). Very nostalgic, like Vegemite.

Played the Trine demo on the PS3. It's quite fun. However, the gameplay gets very repetitive...which means that I burned out of the game by the time I got to the end of the demo. Oh well.

Currently doing a Version upgrade on Ubuntu. Hope it works as I've not had a lot of luck with them before. Yes, I know I could just ignore the "You can upgrade, you know you want to, please upgrade now, it's in your best interests to upgrade, upgrade or I'll eat your dog." messages...but it's not like I can just put a blocker on it.
*UPDATE*
Yup, as expected, doing the upgrade left it unable to boot (kernel panic).
I'll fix it once I've had some sleep...

If you were close to death, what would you choose for your last words? To whom would you want to say them?

Hard to say.  Depends on the circumstances.
Comedic -
a) "Bus?  What Bus?" - in response to the person saying "Mind that bus!"
b)  "Didja get the number of that donkeycart?"

Serious -
"I achieved what I set out to do in my life, so I have no regrets."

Tombstone -
"When I looked back on my life, I saw no footprints at all.  I trod lightly on this earth and the seas of time washed away all trace."

Police Shootout after refusing to register on the central database -
"Blank is Beautiful! Blank is Beautiful!"

Been reading reviews of Dragon Age : Origins.  Mostly good.
Except the DLC.  Apparently they've decided that to combat piracy, they'll only be including certain things as DLC.  But don't worry, 2 out of the 3 starter DLCs will be 'free' to legitimate customers.
Which doesn't include 2nd-hand buyers....the dirty evil THIEVES!!!
OK, I can understand how a lot of the PC version might be pirated.  But I had no idea that XBOX360 or PS3 games were being casually pirated.   ...oh, and us honest console players will be rewarded by having the pay more than the PC gamers.  Gee, thanks.

What I'm seeing is them making a calculated effort to make the decision to wait and buy 2nd-hand as less economic than buying new.  Why make up a story about piracy?  Why not just come clean and say "We want people to buy it new as that makes us money.  And if they buy it 2nd-hand, we'll get almost as much money from that too through DLC."
And my answer to that?  I think I might wait for the Game-Of-The-Year edition in a couple of years which will include all the DLC (assuming it's like Fallout3 and Oblivion).  It's not like I've even completed F3 and Oblivion yet.

I tried out Windows 7 builtin virtual machine emulator.  Apparently it only works with hardware assistance.
So I turn it on in the BIOS.  And yes, the emulator works fine.
Just one problem, since I turned it on, my screen has become corrupted - whenever a foreground window appears, the background window gets funny lines through it.  This is resolved by refreshing the window (ie, minimizing and then maximizing).  Still very annoying though.
After googling around for a while, updating the video drivers and then googling some more, I found that it was because I have 3G of memory on this laptop in 2G+1G chunks - mismatched memory.  The intel GM45 chipset uses the local RAM as it's memory and that in combination with VMM in BIOS is the cause.
I've ordered a another 2G chunk and I hope that this will fix it.

It's one of my annoyances that a lot of the time, when I come out from shopping, put my groceries in the car, and then go to put my shopping trolley neatly away in the space provided...and find that other people aren't nearly so tidy and just stick them any old place there, around there, in any orientation except upside down.  All too often I have to spend a couple of minutes rearranging the trolleys that are already there, inserting the large trolley into the large trolleys, and the small into the small so that mine will fit without being a danger to passing traffic.
Is it so much hassle to spend an addition 1 second to insert like trolleys into like, so that other patrons have space to put their trolley?
ARE THEY JUST TOO POSH TO PUSH?!

Tried playing an old game tonight.  It failed to play a video.
Complained about a lack of a video DLL.  IR50_32.dll.
Apparently it's an indeo codec, so I googled around for a bit.  Which led me to a solution "regsvr32 ir50_32.dll".
Which after a few tries, I managed to get it to run.
Except that it came up with a very unhelpful error message "0x8000FFFF".  Which to you, me and pretty much everyone else on this planet, doesn't mean a damn thing.
More googling ensues.  Apparently it's the "You don't have the rights to do that, please run as Administrator."  message.
...Why did they choose to show an error number instead of a message?  Or offer the option to run it as Admin like pretty much everything else in the OS?  Beats me.
